Politics, Education & Policy OH MY!

After answering the question of "who controls education" in assignment A2, it really got me thinking. In my opinion education is to benefit students, and the teachers are the agents that provide that guidance and support. However, after completing research and discussing this question with my politically savy friend, it helped me realize that education is very driven by the federal government. Even though state governments are implementing the policies, they are highly influenced by the desire for funding from the federal government. Of course this is all being done with the hope of solving our nation's education crisis, I just hope that the hole is not getting bigger and that the crisis is improving.
